Summer Update 2023

Well, it has been quite a spring! I have just returned from an amazing two months in Toronto performing the opera Treemonisha in the Luminato Festival. In April, I was delighted to bring Sing Sistah Sing! Tales of Transatlantic Freedom to the Charlotte Shout! Festival in North Carolina, where I performed. at America’s first Pianodrome in the Historic Grace AME Zion Church. Spring Update!

Spring is most certainly coming in with a BANG! It began with my last performances of Lohengrin in the Role of Ortrud and Sing Sistah Sing! Tales of Transatlantic Freedom made it’s US debut in February as part of Black History Month in Boston at the iconic Museum of Fine Arts. Sing Sistah Sing! Summer 2022

Summer brings new adventures for Sing Sistah Sing! I am currently in rehearsals creating the piece Tales of Transatlantic Freedom with my new producers at Yard Heads International. We open at the brand new community-based venue 391 The Pianodrome in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on the 19th of August at 19:00 with further performances until the 26th of August. Summer Update!

I am honoured and excited to announce that I will be returning to the Edinburgh International Festival this summer in two semi-staged performances of Judith Wier’s Woman.Life.Song with the amazing Chineke! Orchestra. I will also be stepping back into the world of Opera with a new production in Berlin in September with Die Krönung der Schöpfung, presented by Produktion FMK. Sing Sistah Sing! Summer Update!

Exciting News! I am excited to announce that Sing Sistah Sing! Has been invited to be part of this summer’s Edinburgh International Festival. The show will be an “as live” recording from The Hub that will be part of the Chamber Music Soundscapes series aired throughout Prince’s Street Gardens on Monday 17th August and streamed concurrently on YouTube at 1pm.

Andrea brings her award-winning show "Sing Sistah Sing!" to the US this spring, joined by pianist Peter Maleitzke. The tour will visit San Francisco, Arizona State University, Tennessee King Institute, and Cotuit Center for the Arts in Massachusetts.
